Nottingham Forest secured a crucial 2-1 victory away at Tottenham Hotspur, propelling themselves into third place in the Premier League with 60 points, while Tottenham remain mired in 16th on 37 points.

Chris Wood doubled the lead with a strong header in the 16th minute after a narrow VAR offside had disallowed an earlier attempt. Forest took the lead in the 5th minute when Elliot Anderson’s deflected drive beat Tottenham keeper Vicario.

Richarlison’s header in the 87th minute helped Tottenham mount a late comeback and cut the deficit, but Forest’s defense held strong to secure all three points.

Tottenham’s 18th Premier League loss of the season and their first home league loss to Forest since 1997 result in increased pressure on manager Ange Postecoglou as the team hovers just above the relegation zone.

Forest’s methodical counterattacking strategy under Nuno Espírito Santo paid off, and the victory comes ahead of a crucial FA Cup semi-final matchup with Manchester City later this week. With a favorable schedule of games coming up, Forest has stepped up their attempt to qualify for the Champions League for the first time.
