After allegedly coming to an agreement in principle with the Super Eagles striker on a possible summer move, Manchester United is prepared to activate Victor Osimhen‘s €75 million release clause.
As manager Ruben Amorim seeks to expand his attacking options, Tuttosport reports that the Red Devils have already reached a basic pay agreement with Osimhen’s representation and are willing to fulfill the release clause in his Napoli contract.
During his loan stint with Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray this season, the 26-year-old Nigerian international has been in incredible form, making just 35 appearances across all competitions while scoring 30 goals and dishing out seven assists.
Last summer, Osimhen was strongly linked to a transfer to the Premier League, with Chelsea and United among his suitors. However, he ended up joining Galatasaray on loan for the season.
Rasmus Hojlund may be offered to Napoli as part of the trade, according to rumors, and the possible deal for Osimhen may force the exit of numerous United attackers.
With only eight goals in 45 games this season, the Danish striker has had a difficult time at Old Trafford.
