In other news, Nicolas Jackson’s vital first-half goal helped Chelsea defeat Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for Europe are maintained as the victory puts them in the top five.
With a 3-0 victory over Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers extended their winning record to six straight wins. With a goal and an assist, Matheus Cunha stole the show as already-relegated Leicester found it difficult to match Wolves’ vigor and accuracy.
Brighton & Hove Albion’s stunning 3–2 comeback victory over West Ham United ended their seven-game losing streak. After falling behind late, Brighton came back with two spectacular goals in the last 15 minutes to win and maintain their hopes of qualifying for Europe.
In the meanwhile, Fulham defeated Southampton by a late margin of 2-1 at St. Mary’s Stadium. Ryan Sessegnon’s late goal gave Fulham all three points, shattering Southampton’s slim chances of surviving.
